If you are a person at risk for injury, malnutrition, or mental illness, or if you lack enough shelter and health care, you can get help from many District government and nonprofit organizations. If you qualify, you may receive free or low-cost health care, as well as counseling, temporary shelter, job training, and legal assistance.
